Prior to Smoother Consulting, Mark studied Finance at Seattle University. He worked in different positions; a valet attendant, a shoe dog at Nordy’s, accounting roles, a business analyst and more. Experiences in various industries - automotive, healthcare, tech, to name a few, have taught Mark many lessons and given him a hands-on understanding to how businesses operate from the ground up. Early in Mark’s corporate career, Excel became one of his strong suits, quickly establishing him as the “go-to” Excel person in the office. Soon, Mark realized his love for data and in 2016 he found himself using this new tool called Power BI. Mark began mixing data modelling principles with artistic visualizations. He now spends much of his time with business leaders, aligning their business strategy with a data strategy that leverages the Power BI stack, and showing them how insights can propel their business smoothly.
